Preheating your air fryer offers a double win: crispier results and faster cooking. By letting the air fryer reach its target temperature before adding your food, you create a hot surface for immediate contact. This jumpstarts the crisping process. Additionally, preheating eliminates the time needed for the air fryer to heat up, slightly reducing your overall cooking time.

Prepare the Mushrooms for the Air Fryer

While the countertop air fryer heats up it’s time to prepare the mushrooms. First, carefully wash and dry the whole mushrooms. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove the water and any dirt. Or wipe them clean with a damp paper towel to avoid saturating them.

Then slice the mushrooms, or for larger mushrooms, cut them into quarters.ย
