How to Make the Most Delicious Chocolate Cherry Smoothie
This chocolate cherry smoothie is like a fancy dessert in a glass. Smoothies with cherries are great, but a chocolate cherry smoothie is even better.
There is nothing better than a delicious cherry smoothie with cacao for a healthy sweet treat. This cherry smoothie recipe with chocolate is the perfect cherry chocolate smoothie recipe for any time of day.
It is one of my favorites of all of my healthy breakfast smoothie recipes.
By now you know how much I love smoothies. Every single day I have one smoothie and I love to mix things up as far as smoothie recipes. With clean eating, it’s so easy to find delicious and healthy smoothie recipes like this chocolate smoothie recipe with cherries. Any chance to add cacao to a smoothie recipe or food and I’m on board because cacao is simply delicious.
Chocolate Cherry Smoothie Recipe Ingredients
What’s in a chocolate cherry smoothie? Here are the ingredients you will need to gather for your cherry chocolate shake:

- 3/4 cup frozen cherries
- 3 ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon cashew butter
- 2 dates
- 1/4 teaspoon green powder (optional) – this is the one that I use: HERE
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 Tbsp Chocolate Protein Powder (optional)
How to Make a Cherry Smoothie with Cacao
First, make sure to gather your ingredients to make a chocolate cherry smoothie.
Then in a powerful blender add the cherries and ice cubes. Pulse slightly to chop.
After you slightly chop the frozen cherries and ice go ahead and add the remaining ingredients (minus the liquids).
I always like to add protein powder to my smoothie recipes. This ingredient is optional, but if you are looking for a tasty organic vegan protein and vitamin plant-based protein powder then this is the one that I use daily: HERE (I have both the vanilla and chocolate flavored).
Next, pour the almond milk and water on top.
Blend until smooth and then portion into one large jar or two small jars to share with a friend or loved one. My kids love to steal my smoothies so sometimes I made a little extra to share with them.

- 1/4 tsp green powder, optional
- 1 scoop protein powder, optional
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 3/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a powerful blender add the cherries and ice cubes. Pulse slightly to chop.
- Add the remaining ingredients, less the liquids.
- Pour the almond milk and water on top.
- Blend until smooth.
- Portion into one large jar or two small jars. Enjoy Immediately.
