How to Make Delicious & Easy Vanilla Almond Cake Balls
Cake balls are one of those all around great snacks. You can pop one in your mouth while on the go, or sit and enjoy two or three with a cup of tea. Another great thing about this cake balls recipe is that the kids will love them and you don’t even have to let them know that they are healthy. My sweet tooth means that I always have snacks on hand. This cake balls recipe is just another healthy treat option and family favorite.
Healthy Almond Vanilla Cake Balls Recipe

- 1 cup Oat flour
- 1/2 cup Almond Meal
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp nunaturals liquid vanilla stevia
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup almond milk (how to make your own)
- 2 Tbsp coconut milk
- 1/2 packet stevia
- 1.5 Tbsp dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs (optional)
How to Make Cake Balls
Homemade cake balls are super easy to make and you don’t need a cake ball maker to make these. These are super easy and one of my all-time favorite healthy snacks.

First, you will need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees and gather your ingredients.
- In a large bowl mix the oat flour (1 cup) and almond flour (1/2 cup). Add the baking soda (1 tsp).
- In a smaller bowl, combine the almond butter (1/4 cup) and maple syrup (1/3 cup). Mix these together thoroughly, use a hand mixer if you need to. Then add almond milk (1/4 cup) to the mixture.
- Stir in the vanilla stevia (1 tsp) and vanilla extract (1/4 tp) to this bowl.
- Add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients. You can use store-bought or homemade almond milk.
- Stir until combined.
- Prep a muffin pan with silicone molds or paper muffin cups and portion the batter into eight muffin cups.
- Bake your cake balls recipe for 10 minutes, rotate the muffins and then bake for an additional thirteen minutes.
- Remove and let cool in the tin for thirty minutes.
- This is where it may seem tricky. But, once your cake muffins have cooled, you will want to crumble them into a large bowl with your hands.
- Next, in a smaller bowl, whisk together the coconut milk (2 Tbsp) and stevia packet (1/2 a packet).
- Add the coconut milk and stevia mixture to the cake crumble and mix until moist.
- Using your hands, roll the dough into balls and place on a tray lined with parchment paper.
- Top each ball with a few mini dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs.
- Place the balls into the freezer for sixty minutes to set. When ready to eat, remove the cake balls from the freezer and let thaw 10-20 minutes.
Yields approximately 12 balls.
