Like you, I prioritize quality ingredients when I cook. To truly elevate your air-fried bacon experience, consider ordering thick-cut, high-quality bacon directly from small regenerative farms online. They always ship directly to your door, so you can enjoy delicious, ethically sourced bacon with ease. No matter your bacon preference, lean or marbled, the air fryer delivers crispy perfection.
How to Cook Bacon in a Ninja Air Fryer
First, preheat the Ninja Foodi for 3-5 minutes at 390 degrees F.
Ninja Air Fryer Bacon Settings
The lid must be closed to preheat the Ninja air fryer. Close the lid. Then select the Air Crisp function.
Next set the temperature to 390 degrees F. For preheating and warming up, set the time for 5 minutes, and press start.
Once your Ninja Foodi is preheated, we’re ready to get started. Unlike traditional pan-frying, air frying utilizes the air fryer basket. This allows the hot air to circulate freely around the bacon strips, ensuring even cooking and crispy perfection. Plus, the bacon grease drips down to the bottom of the crisper basket, away from your food, for a cleaner and healthier cooking experience.
Place the raw bacon strips into the basket. You do not need to add water to the pot, you do not have to worry about arranging them in a single layer, and you do not need any oil. Another great thing is that you can cook an entire package at once using this method.
Ninja Air Fryer Bacon Cooking Time
Set the cook time for 12 minutes and press start. Roughly every 4 minutes, open the lid and use tongs to toss the bacon into the basket. Make sure to use silicone tongs to avoid scratching the inside of your Foodi. Tossing the bacon ensures all sides are exposed to the hot air circulating in the air fryer, and perfect crispy bacon every time.
The Ninja Foodi air fryer bacon time may vary slightly. Keep an eye on the strips of bacon during the last few minutes (around 8-10 minutes) to ensure it reaches your desired level of crispness. A quick peek ensures perfectly cooked bacon every time. Even with these simple steps, cooking times can vary slightly depending on a few things::
- the type of bacon: pork bacon or turkey bacon
- the thickness of the bacon: whether you are cooking thick-cut bacon or regular bacon
- personal preference for doneness: do you prefer extra crispy bacon or less than crispy cooked bacon
- the air fryer: different sizes and models may vary slightly
When the cooked bacon is ready remove it with tongs and place it on paper towels to drain the extra grease.

The delicious bacon is perfect every single time. No mess, just simple perfect bacon.
In addition to making the best bacon, this method also makes clean up a breeze. As the bacon cooks to a perfect crispy texture the bacon fat renders and falls to the bottom of the pot.
Once the air fryer is cooled to at least room temperature, remove the basket and wash with warm soapy water. Then either discard the bacon grease or save it in this cute ceramic bacon grease container for later.
