This microwave egg boiler is an egg-shaped, egg cooker. It is BPA and melamine-free and can cook up to 4 eggs at a time.

The egg cooker is made of three separate parts: the base, the lid, and the aluminum metal tray.

How to Use a Microwave Egg Boiler

First, before initial use remember to give your Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Boiler a quick hand wash with warm, soapy water. This applies before the first use and after subsequent uses to maintain hygiene and keep your egg boiler in tip-top shape. 

Next, pour 1 1/2 cups water into the plastic base. Use the same amount of water whether you are making 1 egg, or 4.

Then put the aluminum tray onto the base and place raw eggs into the egg holder.

Next, secure the lid to the base and place it in the microwave. You will notice the top of the lid has a vent hole. Make sure this remains unobstructed.

Microwave Egg Boiler Instructions: Cooking Times

Place the egg boiler into the microwave and set the cooking time according to the wattage of your microwave and the preferred doneness level of your egg.

When the eggs are finished cooking leave them in the cooker with the lid on for 2 minutes to cool before removing the lid. After 2 minutes, run the eggs under cool water or place in a cold water, ice bath for just a few seconds to stop further cooking.

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 1/2 cups water into the base of the egg cooker
  2. Then place the aluminum tray on the base and add the eggs
  3. Add the cover and place in the microwave.
  4. Set the cook time based on wattage of microwave and preferred doneness level of eggs- anywhere from 5-10 minutes
  5. When finished, leave the eggs in the egg boiler for 2 minutes before removing the lid.
  6. Then run under cool water, or an ice bath for a few seconds to stop further cooking.
  7. Peel and enjoy
