Adding chia seeds to your smoothie is just an added bonus. Chia seeds are full of healthy omega-3 fatty acids and can help with weight loss. They are also an excellent source of fiber, which is said to help improve heart health, reduce cholesterol levels, and promote intestinal health. You can grab chia seeds online here: chia seeds.
I always opt for organic ingredients when possible, and almond milk is my go-to for healthy smoothies. You can opt for any dairy-free milk of choice, like coconut milk, cashew milk, or oat milk. This is the almond milk that I like: almond milk.
When adding protein powder to my smoothies I often try different kinds to see what I like. Lately, I love this clean simple plant-based protein powder. It is made with minimal ingredients and is organic. You can order it in single servings packs to see if you like it before buying it in a larger amount, which is great. It can be found online here: Protein powder.
When making protein smoothies, or any fruit or green smoothies you will need a high-speed blender. I have the Vitamix and love it. It’s available online here: Vitamix Blender. There are also different blenders available online in different price ranges and abilities. You can find those here: Blenders.
How to Make a Spinach Avocado Smoothie
First, pour the almond milk into the blender.
Next, add the fresh spinach.
Then add your maple syrup. Maple syrups adds a nice subtle sweetness to the smoothie.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender. Add the chia seeds, protein powder, avocado, and a few ice cubes. If your avocado is very firm, make sure to cut it up into smaller pieces so that it blends well.
Blend until smooth and then pour the spinach avocado smoothie into a mason jar, tall glass, or smoothie cup. If you are taking your smoothie to go, then you might need an insulated smoothie cup like this one: smoothie tumbler.
Creamy Spinach and Avocado Smoothie
Enjoy your healthy smoothie with avocado and spinach as a quick breakfast, post workout smoothie, or afternoon snack.
This drink is super creamy and tastes great. Since there is nothing processed or ‘bad’ in it you can make them for the kids too. I was afraid that my husband would be turned off by the color, but he even agrees that is is delicious.
