You will love this cherry chocolate smoothie because of its dark chocolate flavor, healthy ingredients, and natural sweetness.

What You Need to Make a Cherry Chocolate Smoothie

To make this delicious cherry cacao smoothie recipe you will need just a handful of simple ingredients.

  • 3/4 cup frozen dark sweet cherries (105g)
  • 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder (10g)
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup (30g)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (8oz)
  • a few ice cubes
  • optional – 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder

You can use fresh cherries if they are in season, but you have to be sure to remove the pits. I prefer frozen cherries for this easy smoothie recipe because they are always available in the frozen section of the grocery store. Another benefit to using frozen fruit in smoothies is that you can use less ice when you use frozen fruit.

If you do not have almond milk you can use any non-dairy milk, like oat milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk for this delicious smoothie.

First, pour the almond milk into the blender, or whichever kind of milk you are using. When making smoothies you always want to start with the liquid to avoid clumping.
