  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (140 grams)
  • 1 small or 1/2 large banana (77 grams)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (29 grams)

You will also need a high-powered blender. While a good blender will ensure the oats achieve a perfectly smooth consistency, this smoothie can still be enjoyed with a less powerful machine. You may just have a slightly coarser texture from the oats. The Vitamix is an amazing blender that mixes to a smooth creamy texture.

For the perfect texture, my go-to for oatmeal recipes is certified gluten-free oats. While quick oats and steel-cut oats are fantastic options for hot oatmeal, they are not ideal for a smoothie because they won’t blend as smoothly.

Almond milk smoothies with fruit are always a great breakfast option. You have the option to go with fresh or frozen real fruit. Fresh strawberries can be used, but frozen is super convenient. The same goes for bananas, frozen banana is great when you take the time to freeze them in advance. 

For an extra protein boost, feel free to add a scoop of your favorite organic vanilla protein powder made with minimal ingredients. This dairy-free strawberry oatmeal smoothie is delicious and satisfying either way.

How to Make an Oatmeal Strawberry Smoothie Recipe with Almond Milk

First, add the almond milk to the blender.
