Glam Farmhouse Style Table
I have to admit that when I bought this table I was a bit amazed that the person was even selling it. I mean, it’s Ethan Allen and in great shape! Ethan Allen furniture is always made very well, and this table is no different from solid wood, dovetail drawers, planked wood top, curvy trim and chunky farmhouse legs, I’m in heaven!
A customer of mine claimed it to be customized. We decided on a rustic farmhouse style with a twist, we added a glamorous touch to the trim. To start I took advantage of a beautiful sunny day and sanded the top down outside with my favorite sander.
Next, I used a combo of paint and stain to create a farmhouse weathered reclaimed wood appearance on top.
Next I and added a metallic bronze to the trim with a small artists brush.
The metallic trim adds just the right amount of elegance and glam, especially with the curvy details along the trim.
The rest of the table was then hand painted in a creamy off-white and distressed in all the right places drawing just enough attention to all the curves and details of the table. The entire table was then lightly sanded to a super smooth finish using this awesome sandpaper that a friend of mine turned me on to, it’s a rubber based, flexible sandpaper that doesn’t fall apart and rises off when done. Can’t beat that considering I use a ton of sandpaper.
The original drawer pull truly belongs with the table, so I merely cleaned it up and refreshed it to the same metallic bronze as the trim.
This one of a kind rustic, glam farmhouse style table is ready for its new home.

This turned into such a stunner! Love the idea of staining the top and painting out the rest of the table, really sets the wood of the top off and this one turned out so elegant!

I love the transformation and the distressing you did on the legs, it looks great! And, I didn’t know about the flexible sandpaper, I’m going to have to try that. I like sanding blocks because you can rinse those too but this would be great for using by hand or on a sander.

thank you! and the flexible sandpaper is fantastic!
