Grilled Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Recipe
What You Will Need (Full Printable Recipe Available Below)
- One bunch of asparagus (appx 25-30 stalks)
- 1/2 pound of Nitrate free bacon (we like this kind: Here)
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Aluminum Foil (optional)
How to Cook Bacon Wrapped Asparagus on Grill
Wash your asparagus and pat it dry. Grab your bacon.
Lighting Your Grill for Your Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Recipe
While you are preparing your asparagus and bacon you can also go light your grill. I’m sure we can agree that everything tastes better over a charcoal grill. Of course, you can make this bacon wrapped asparagus recipe over a gas grill but why would you want to?
When you are ready to light your grill if you are in fact cooking your grilled asparagus with bacon over charcoal make sure to use the HomeRight electro light. If you are using a gas grill you can set the temp to medium heat.
Preparing Bacon Wrapped Asparagus for the Grill
Trim the ends of your asparagus spears. Trim approximately 1 – 1.5 inches from the thick white-ish end.
To make your bacon wrapped asparagus bundles wrap 3 stalks of asparagus with one slice of bacon. Only wrap 3/4 of the way up the spears leaving the ends unwrapped. Secure each bundle of wrapped asparagus with a toothpick.
Do this for all of your bacon and asparagus until you run out of one or the other (or both). Next, season to taste with salt and pepper.
Grilling Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
Place your bacon wrapped asparagus on the grill and cook for appx 3-5 minutes on each side. If you are concerned about your grilled bacon wrapped asparagus catching fire you can opt to place on foil to avoid catching on fire.
