How to Make the Best Lavender Vanilla Homemade Soap Recipe
I confess that lavender vanilla is one of my absolute favorite scents of all time. It is so soothing and relaxing. Which is why it is also my favorite homemade soap recipe. But give me this soap scent in a candle or bath soak and I am loving that too. Of all the homemade soap recipes out there I find that this is one of my favorite. Of course, my husband would prefer something a bit manlier, but he can get his own soap ๐

Lavender Vanilla Homemade Soap Recipe
Directions for how to make soap:
Gather your soap ingredients from the supply list above for making DIY soap. If you would prefer to learn how to make soap without lye then you are in luck. There is no lye in this homemade soap recipe. Instead, we are using a shea butter melt and pour base with essential oils. I am not affiliated with any particular essential oil brand but tend to lean towards using them in general for certain recipes. If you are new to essential oils you can read more here: The Amazing Benefits to Using Natural Essential Oils.
Step 1. Sprinkle some lavender flowers into your soap molds. You can get these simple plastic soap molds at the craft store, or these silicone soap molds online (here) if you intend to make your own soap often.
Step 2. Cut your shea butter soap base into cubes, and place in measuring cup. The soap base should cut easily with a butter knife.
Step 3. Microwave the shea butter melt and pour soap base for 30 seconds. Stir very well. If it does not completely melt right away, repeat in 10-second intervals until fully melted, stirring as needed.
