How to Air Fry Broccoli and Carrots
First, preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and allow it to warm up while you prep your fresh vegetables.
While the air fryer preheats wash, peel, and slice the carrots. Slice the carrots thin because if you leave them too thick they will not cook at the same pace as the broccoli. This is why I prefer not to use baby carrots. If you do use baby carrots you will need to slice them as well.
Next, place carrots in a large mixing bowl and trim the broccoli. Remove any thick stems, and cut the large pieces into smaller pieces.
Then place the trimmed broccoli into the large bowl and add the tablespoon of oil along with the simple seasoning. You can easily swap out this simple seasoning blend for your seasoning of choice.
Use a spoon or tongs and toss to coat.
Cooking Broccoli and Carrots in the Air Fryer
Place the vegetables in the air fryer basket of your air fryer. Ideally, you want to spread them out in a single layer. If you are unable to do that just make sure to toss it more often while it cooks.
Cook the air fryer carrots and broccoli for 6 minutes, then toss or shake and then cook for an additional 6 minutes. If your vegetables are not in a single layer give it a few more tosses/shakes in between as it cooks to ensure the hot air reaches all sides of the vegetables.
You can add a few additional minutes if you think your air fried broccoli and carrots need more time. The 12 minutes of cooking time results in a nice combination of both crispy and tender vegetables.
Serve the air-fried carrots and broccoli right away with your favorite protein for a complete meal.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
