For this warm and comforting detox tea made with apple cider vinegar, the type of vinegar does matter. Make sure to use Braggs, organic unfiltered ACV with the ‘mother’. It’s available online here: Braggs ACV.
To sweeten this apple cider vinegar drink we are using raw honey. You can use local honey, which is great for helping with seasonal allergies. Also try to use raw, unfiltered organic when possible, like this one here: raw honey.
We also always use filtered water. If you are looking for a great quality water filter then check out: Clearly Filtered.
What are the Potential Benefits of Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar
The health benefits of apple cider vinegar are endless. And I am always open to natural remedies. Of all of the numerous health benefits, here are just a few examples of what consuming organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar may be able to do for your body and overall health:
- lower blood sugar levels
- help with weight loss
- improve immune system
- lower cholesterol levels
- support the digestive system
- helps relieves allergies
- improve gut health
Apple cider vinegar is made of about 5-6% acetic acid which can kill harmful bacteria and may have a positive impact on gut health. Acetic acid may damage tooth enamel when not diluted. Diluting the ACV with water is a much better way to drink it, making this a better option than straight apple cider vinegar shots.
Potential Health Benefits of Raw Honey
The potential health benefits of raw honey are just as impressive as those of ACV. Honey has been historically known to soothe sore throats, heal wounds, and help with seasonal allergies. Honey is also considered to be an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-fungal compound. It has also been known to aid in digestion and possibly improve cholesterol and improve triglyceride levels.
Potential Health Benefits of Limes
Limes are high in vitamin C, and antioxidants. Because of the vitamin C, limes may help boost the immune system. A few other potential health benefits of lime and lime juice is that they may help to reduce risk of heart disease, prevent kidney stones, and improve iron absorption.
In addition to being a great source of health benefits, limes offer a sweet citrus zest to your recipes and drinks.

How to Make a Honey and Lime Apple Cider Vinegar Drink
First, add the lime juice to your favorite mug. Freshly squeezed lime juice is the best option. As they say, fresh is best.
Next, add the apple cider vinegar.
Then add the raw honey to the mug.
Next, fill the rest of the mug with warm water.
Gently stir the honey, apple cider vinegar, lime and water until the honey dissolves.
Then add a lime slice or wedge to the lime drink.
How Does Honey Apple Cider Vinegar and Lime Juice Taste
This tea is light and citrusy, with a hint of honey sweetness. Overall the tea is mild and simply ‘nice’ like many of the other apple cider vinegar drinks that I make.
Enjoy this apple cider vinegar and lime tea in the morning or evening, or any time of day.
