Air fryer baked potatoes require very little prep, which is another great thing about making air fryer potatoes.
Wash and dry the outside of the potatoes. Then use a fork to poke holes in the skin of each potato.
Next, spray a little of the oil cooking spray on the outside of each potato. This will help to create a nice crispy skin.
Then sprinkle a little bit of coarse salt on the outside of the skin.
How Long To Cook a Baked Potato in the Air Fryer
Place the potato in the air fryer basket of the preheated Ninja Foodi air fryer.
If you are cooking more than one potato together try to make sure that they don’t touch if possible. And do not overcrowd the basket.
Close the lid, select the air crisp function, and set the temperature to 390 degrees.
The amount of time it takes to air fry a baked potato will vary depending on the size of the potatoes. Cooking time will normally be between 30-45 minutes for a medium potato. This potato is rather large and took 50 minutes.
For the first time, you can start the time at 35 minutes and then add more time as needed in 5-10 minute increments. The potato is ready when fork tender. You should be able to slide a fork or sharp knife easily into the center of the potato. If the potato is still too firm, then add a few more minutes.
When finished, carefully remove the hot potato from the crisper basket with a pair of tongs.
