What You Need to Make an Avocado Banana Spinach Smoothie
To make this tasty creamy smoothie you will need a few of your favorite ingredients. These simple ingredients can all be found in local grocery stores and online.
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 cup baby spinach leaves
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder
- handful of ice cubes

The best way to freeze bananas for your healthy smoothie recipes is to plan ahead. Start with overripe bananas, cut them into one-inch pieces, and place the banana chunks on parchment paper or in a small plastic bag in the freezer overnight. Using frozen bananas in smoothies allows you to use less ice, which helps prevent watering down of the smoothies.

Almond milk is a common dairy-free milk, but you can use your non-dairy milk of choice, like coconut milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or any other type of milk that you prefer. This is the almond milk that I like to use because it doesn’t have a bunch of added ingredients that you don’t need: almond milk.
The protein powder is an optional ingredient, but who doesn’t love a little extra protein? Protein powder can get confusing as to what is good and what isn’t. What is clean and what is full of processed ingredients? This is one of the best protein powders that I have found, and the best part is that you can order in single-serving packets to try different flavors to find what you like and don’t like. You can find it online here: vanilla protein powder.
Best Blender for Making Healthy Smoothies
You will also need a high-powered blender. I have this Vitamix blender, and I love it. It’s available online here: Vitamix Blender. There are also many other different blenders available online in different price ranges and abilities. You can find those here: Blenders.

How to Make a Banana Avocado Spinach Smoothie
First, pour the almond milk into the blender.

Next, add the fresh baby spinach leaves.

Add half of an avocado. If your avocado is very firm, then cut it into smaller chunks, if the avocado is nice and ripe you can leave it whole. The avocado is what gives this avocado smoothie recipe such a creamy flavor.

Then add the maple syrup to the blender.

Add the frozen banana chunks.

Then add the protein powder if you are including it. Toss in a few ice cubes and blend until smooth.

Easy Banana Avocado Spinach Green Smoothie
Pour your vibrant smoothie into a tall glass, or mason jar and enjoy. If you are taking this to go, keep it in an insulated cup like this one: insulated tumbler.

Because this recipe uses fresh avocados you will want to drink it right away. It is also a thicker smoothie than typical fresh fruit smoothies. If you find it to be too thick, you can add more almond milk or a little bit of water to thin it out a bit.
