Hopefully, you already have these ingredients laying around your home. If not, you should be able to get them at your local pharmacy, grocer or online. Gather your ingredients, choose your essential oils of choice and a small bowl. The oils are optional, and purely for a pleasant aroma. But it is nice to be able to customize your essential oil hand sanitizer and make it your own.
First, combine the rubbing alcohol and aloe vera gel together and mix well.
Next, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
Mix your DIY essential oil hand sanitizer thoroughly. Thats it!

Store your DIY hand sanitizer in simple mason jars and use them as needed to refill any smaller travel containers you have. My kids have small containers of hand sanitizer in their school bags and I keep one in my car.
Note, it is very important to use a rubbing alcohol that is 99% alcohol. To be effective, hand sanitizers must be at least 60% alcohol. When you dilute with aloe vere, you cut the alcohol content by 33%. This recipe creates a hand sanitizer that is approximately 65% alcohol.
