There is a bit of flexibility when it comes to the chicken. You can use a rotisserie chicken carcass or a homemade roasted chicken. We roasted a whole chicken the night before, and when dinner was over I placed the carcass and any leftover bones into a large Ziploc bag in the refrigerator to use the next day.

You can get your poultry at the local grocery store or order online and get organic free-range chickens from regenerative farmers. This is where I order meat from here: CrowdCow.

Because we are making pressure cooker chicken stock you can adapt this Ninja Foodi chicken broth recipe to an Instant Pot chicken stock recipe by following the same steps.

How to Make Chicken Bone Broth in the Ninja Foodi

To make easy homemade broth, first roughly chop the vegetables into large chunks.

Then place the leftover carcass, bones, and any chicken pieces like gizzards, organs, etc in the Ninja Foodi pot.

Next, add the vegetables to the pot. Add the bay leaf, and apple cider vinegar as well.

Then fill the Ninja Foodi pot with about 12 cups of water. I prefer filtered water, and love the Clearly Filtered water pitcher. Make sure not to fill beyond the MAX fill line.

How Long to Pressure Cook Chicken Broth in Ninja Foodi

Now that your ingredients are all in the Foodi pot, secure the pressure cooking lid.

Next, set the release valve to the ‘seal’ position.

Then select pressure function, and make sure the temp is set to ‘HI’.

Next, set the pressure cooking time to 3 hours 30 minutes. Press start.

Once the Foodi reaches pressure the timer will start to count down. Keep in mind that it can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes for the Foodi to reach pressure before it counts down.

Pressure Cooker Chicken Pressure Release

When the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker bone broth is done it will automically begin a natural pressure release. I don’t have the patience for that so I almost always switch the release valve to quick release.

If you also choose to skip the natural release and go straight to quick release then carefully switch the valve from seal to vent. Hot steam will begin to release from the valve. Be very careful not to get burned.

The red pressure button will let you know if the Ninja Foodi is still under high pressure.

When the remaining pressure drops down to a low pressure and it’s safe to open the red button will drop. Do not attempt to force open the pressure cooker lid when the Ninja Foodi is under pressure. The locking system is a safety feature.

Once safe, remove the pressure lid.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the large chunks from the pot. If using a metal spoon be careful not to scratch the pot.

Remove the vegetable scraps, bones, bay leaves, organs, and connective tissues, and chicken fat. Transfer to a large bowl and discard.

If this is your first time making chicken bone broth in the Ninja Foodi then you will love that you can make such a wonderful recipe in a fraction of the time.

One thing to note about this homemade chicken stock recipe is that I do not add black pepper or sea salt during the pressure cooking process. The reason for this is that I would prefer to add it during the actual recipe later on for whatever I use the bone broth for, and whatever that recipe calls for. I hope that makes sense.

Yes. You absolutely can.

As mentioned, you can store the homemade chicken stock in mason jars for future use. If you need to save the bone broth for a long time and prefer to freeze it then consider these Anchor Hocking TruSeal glass food storage containers with airtight lids.
