Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie Recipe for Clean Eating
Smoothies are best when served cold and chocolatey! This chocolate strawberry smoothie is an all-time favorite.
When it comes to smoothies (and chocolate) I am a ‘one a day’ kinda girl. I don’t know about you, but a strawberry chocolate smoothie satisfies that craving for sweetness that hits midday. Almost like clockwork, I am breaking out my blender around 1 pm every afternoon. It’s nice to know that I’m not snacking on sugary garbage and enjoying something good for me with this healthy smoothie.
This is one of my favorite breakfast smoothie recipes.

Ingredients Tips and Substitutions
You can’t make a chocolate strawberry smoothie without strawberries. If fresh strawberries are out of season you can use frozen. Fresh is always better, but I have also found that organic strawberries tend to be smaller and sweeter and last longer. You can also extend the life of your strawberries by rinsing them with white vinegar when you get them home. I don’t know why it works, but it does.
Almond milk – from the box or homemade, I like to stick with organic and unsweetened. This is how I make almond milk.
Honey is a natural sweetener and better than plain old table sugar. I like to always opt for raw & unfiltered honey like this one here: honey.
Raw cacao is a healthier form of chocolate. I use this cacao powder in smoothies, protein balls, and baking. This is the cacao that I tend to use often: cacao.
