You will also need a stand or hand mixer, a muffin pan, and muffin liners. These parchment paper liners are my favorite.

How to Make Healthy Gluten Free Banana Muffins

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Then add the bananas and applesauce to a large bowl. You can make your own homemade applesauce with my easy applesauce recipe, or opt for storebought. I love the natural sweetness that you find with recipes that use applesauce.

Spoon or scoop even portions of muffin batter into each of the muffin cups. I use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to do this.

How Long to Bake Almond Butter Banana Muffins

Bake the gluten free banana muffins for 16-18 minutes until they puff up nicely, and pass the toothpick test.

Stick a clean toothpick into the center of a muffin. If the toothpick comes out clean, then the muffins are done, but if the toothpick is wet with batter then they need a few more minutes in the oven.
