For this warm and comforting detox tea made with apple cider vinegar, the type of vinegar does matter. Make sure to use Braggs, organic unfiltered ACV with the ‘mother’. It’s available online here: Braggs ACV.
To sweeten this apple cider vinegar drink we are using raw honey. You can use local honey, which is great for helping with seasonal allergies. Also try to use raw, unfiltered organic when possible, like this one here: raw honey.
We also always use filtered water. If you are looking for a great quality water filter then check out: Clearly Filtered.
What are the Potential Benefits of Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar
The health benefits of apple cider vinegar are endless. And I am always open to natural remedies. Of all of the numerous health benefits, here are just a few examples of what consuming organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar may be able to do for your body and overall health:
- lower blood sugar levels
- help with weight loss
- improve immune system
- lower cholesterol levels
- support the digestive system
- helps relieves allergies
- improve gut health
Apple cider vinegar is made of about 5-6% acetic acid which can kill harmful bacteria and may have a positive impact on gut health. Acetic acid may damage tooth enamel when not diluted. Diluting the ACV with water is a much better way to drink it, making this a better option than straight apple cider vinegar shots.
Potential Health Benefits of Raw Honey
The potential health benefits of raw honey are just as impressive as those of ACV. Honey has been historically known to soothe sore throats, heal wounds, and help with seasonal allergies. Honey is also considered to be an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-fungal compound. It has also been known to aid in digestion and possibly improve cholesterol and improve triglyceride levels.
Potential Health Benefits of Cayenne
The potential health benefits of cayenne are just as impressive as those of ACV. Not only does cayenne offer a heat to any dish or drink, it is full of important nutrients like vitamins A, C, and B6. Cayenne may potentially help with digestion. Cayenne is also a source of capsaicin, which has been said to contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Capsaicin may also potentially help to lower blood sugar levels.
As you can see the potential health benefits of cayenne, honey, and apple cider vinegar combined are abundant.

How to Make an Apple Cider Vinegar Drink with Honey and Cayenne
First, add the apple cider vinegar to your favorite mug.
Next, add the lemon juice. Always opt for freshly squeezed lemon juice over the bottled stuff.
Then add the raw honey to the mug.
Add a pinch of cayenne. If you enjoy the heat of cayenne and can tolerate it, add a bit more. If you are sensitive to spicy foods then start with just a pinch.
Next, fill the rest of the mug with hot water.
Gently stir the apple cider vinegar drink until the honey dissolves.
Add a lemon slice to your apple cider vinegar honey and cayenne drink.
How Does Apple Cider Vinegar with Lemon, Cayenne and Honey Taste
This drink is soothing, with a mild heat. The cayenne adds a peppery heat while the honey offers a nice sweet balance. Overall the tea is mild and comforting like many of the other apple cider vinegar drinks that I make.
Enjoy this apple cider vinegar detox tea in the morning or evening, or any time of day.
