Vintage Farmhouse and Industrial Style Lighting

Can we please talk about lighting?  I was out to dinner with the family last week and when I looked up I fell in love! As I rambled on to my husband about how much I loved the light fixture he sat there quietly for a moment thinking of how to break the news to me. When the waitress came by, I asked if she knew or could find out where they bought the light fixture.  She didn’t have an answer for me, nor was she able to get an answer for me. So, of course, I then sat in the restaurant and searched on my phone like a crazy person until I was able to find the light. This is it! Isn’t it both amazing and unique?

Weathered Wood & Painted Horse Shoes

Can I tell you how this crazy project first came about?  A few months back I was California with my hubby celebrating my 40th birthday.  While in California, we decided to visit the Winchester Mystery House.  While touring the grounds and the stables I noticed old horseshoes up on the wall. My initial thought was that they would look great painted. Leading us to where we are now. Continue reading Weathered Wood & Painted Horseshoes

French Image Transfer on Vintage Buffet

When I see a super flat surface on a piece of furniture, I get giddy! It’s like being given a clean canvas to do with what you will. I’ve wanted to do an image transfer for some time now.  I haven’t done one in ages. I’ve also had a break from custom work, making this the perfect opportunity to be creative. When I purchased this flat vintage buffet I knew the surface was perfect for adding an image. Adding an image transfer gives a whole new personality to a piece, and this project is no exception.

Purple Painted Plant Stand

I’d like to start by saying that I am a creature of habit.  I find something that I like and I stick with it, which is why I stick with the same paint brand that I know and love; Kristi Kuehl Pure Home Paint. But I also attended a DIY blogger conference recently in Atlanta and received many goodies from sponsors. A few of the goodies were paint samples, so I’m trying one of the samples on my plant stand.   I would also like to add that I will never experiment on a customers piece, but I have no issue experimenting on my own. Reason being I can always fix my own if needed. That being said, I am trying this chalky paint be Deco Art in a pretty purple eggplant color.

The Before

I scooped this simple plant stand up while in the Catskills a week ago and wasn’t sure what I would use it for. Painted Plant Stand by Just the Woods
